Emergency Medical Services
In the fall of 2003, the Cherry Hill Fire Department assumed operational responsibility of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for Cherry Hill Township. This service, a critical component to the quality of life in Cherry Hill, responds to more than 8,000 calls per year for all types of medical emergencies.



During and since the integration of this essential service into the fire department, the mission of the EMS Division has remained constant, to provide a professional and clinically superior emergency medical service. Each member understands that our ability to provide superior patient care is the result of the coordinated efforts of many.  Performance measures, combined with Quality Improvement activities that involve extensive participation by the Medical Director, will direct future clinical initiatives and system enhancements. The past accomplishments and future goals of the EMS Division can be listed in one of three categories; Patient Care, Operational Enhancements, or Personnel Development; each of which directly impacts the quality of service delivered to the residents and visitors of Cherry Hill.



Command of the EMS Division rests with EMS Chief Randall McCargar and a team of Medical Services Officers that synchronize efforts with the Battalion Chief/Shift Commander, creating a seamless Fire/EMS Field Force.
Current EMS deployment has 4 staffed ambulances running in strategic shifts, responding from neighborhood firehouses across town.  Working, training and responding with our firefighters has promoted the standardization of training and response protocols and improved the efficiency of equipment and resource distribution.
As our EMS service continues to grow under this model, the Cherry Hill Fire Department will strive to ensure this unit achieves the same successes it has realized in its fire response and make it the premiere EMS unit in the region. The partnership of our Department and our EMTs serves only to enhance the delivery of EMS services to the citizens of Cherry Hill.
